The Board of Elders’ is responsible for the spiritual welfare of our congregation. The Board of Trustees is responsible for the temporal welfare of our congregation. Of course, we believe that members of both Boards must be willing servants of Jesus Christ and have Him at the center of their lives in order that they will be faithful to Him and His Church is the execution of their duties and responsibilities.
When the Board of Elders’ and the Board of Trustees meet together, it is referred to as the Joint Board. The Joint Board deals with issues referred by either the Board of Elders’ or Board of Trustees and have responsibility in considering and calling a new pastor when a vacancy occurs.
Service on our Official Boards is certainly a “called” position by God, and we prayerfully consider all nominees from this Biblical perspective.
